Let's help my cousin, Mariel Go, fight Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
My name is Mia, and I’m writing this on behalf of my cousin, Mariel Go, who is currently fighting Stage 4 Breast Cancer. To say this journey has been tough for our family would be an understatement. Ate Mariel has shown so much strength and bravery through everything, but now she needs our help.
Her Journey So Far
Since September 28, 2024, Ate Mariel has been admitted to Commonwealth Hospital & Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines. Despite everything, Ate Mariel has been fighting with everything she’s got. She recently had surgery (mastectomy) to help alleviate the pain. She’s been taking other treatments as well that’s taking a huge toll on her physically, emotionally, and financially.
Ate Mariel has been such a light in our family. Throughout her life, she’s been the breadwinner of her family. She’s the main caretaker of her 80-year-old mother who currently has no idea what she's going through (her mother gets confused most of the time and we’re worried how she will take the news of her daughter’s condition).
All her life, all she does is give and now it’s our turn to lighten her load however we can.
Why We Need Your Help
The medical bills are piling up fast. The costs for treatments, medications, and specialist visits are staggering. As of yesterday (October 9, 2024), her running bill is almost PHP 350,000. The professional fees of the doctors are not included yet. On top of that, she’s unable to work, making things even more difficult. She shouldn’t have to worry about how she will pay the bills while focusing on her health.
This is why I’m reaching out. We’re raising money to help cover her medical costs, daily expenses, and anything else she might need to make this fight a little bit easier. Every little bit helps, and even if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
How You Can Support
Anything you can give—whether it’s £1 or £50—will go directly towards her care and help her continue to fight this battle. We know times are tough for everyone, so if donating isn’t possible, just sharing her story would be an amazing help.
We’re so incredibly grateful for your kindness and support during this time. Let’s rally around Ate Mariel and show her she’s not alone in this fight.
Thank you all so much.
With love,
Mia and the Barnuevo Family.
