Help my Dad a Lineman of 40 years needing surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Torre Houde and I am trying to help my dad get the surgery he desperately needs.
My dad had been a powerline man for 40 years and loved every minute of it. He is the strongest man I know, physically, emotionally and spiritually. He has always been there for any friends or family in need. He's worked hard his whole life to provide for our family by doing a job he loved.
My dad has suffered many injuries in this line of work, from rolling a backhoe to being electrocuted but being the strong man that he is, he continued working because of his love for the job to provide. Most recently in April of 2021, he was hurt while running cable for a contractor with Idaho Power. He suffered an injury to his lower back, that has caused him daily pain for the last 2 years.
He was seen by a Worker's Compensation Dr, who pushed surgery, saying it would help him with the pain, but it only made it worse. I have watched my dad, who was able to work 16-hour days and come home be a family man, become someone who can't even walk 15 mins without hurting. He's not able to pick up his youngest grandchild or play outside without being in excruciating pain. On top of that, he hasn't been able to work for the last 2 years.
My dad has gotten a second opinion from a Dr in Flordia, who says he can actually help, and get rid of the horrible pain my dad suffers. However for him to get this surgery there is a costly deposit. My mom has been a saint and helped support them while he's unable to work, but they don't have the means to pay the deposit upfront. I'm asking friends, family, and anyone who can, please donate to help my dad get this surgery that could better his life.
