Help my dad battle kidney disease
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Adriana and my dad has kidney disease. He has had kidney disease since I was 16 and my brother was around 12, making it a fight he’s been going through for about 4 years now. My dad got diagnosed when he was 46 and he is now 50. The type of kidney disease he has had to endure is unfortunately hereditary, so even though he did his best to prevent it, it still worsened as the years went on.
My dad has had to quit his job as a sales representative for medical supplies, which caused him great stress in the 30+ years that this was his career. We had to file for bankruptcy as the medical bills racked us up over 60k in debt. My mom had to take over and go back to work, where she found a job at a clinic that helps the elderly fill out insurance claims while acting as sort of social workers for them. This job only pays minimum wage in Florida, which makes it hard to afford car payments, gas, and even weekly groceries for a family of 4, much less a kidney transplant.
We have saved up a good amount of money for this transplant and with the help of our insurance as well, we will not need to pay an extreme amount anymore. But the upkeep of my dad’s kidney transplant medications will be something we will have to tackle as the years follow to make sure his body will not reject the kidney and he can work to live a normal life once again without weekly dialysis treatments. These medications are hefty cost-wise due to the amount that are needed in order to make sure that his new kidney isn’t rejected.
This is why I come here and ask for help, whether it is through prayers or anything of monetary value, which really anything is appreciated. I could not have asked for a better family or father and we will be blessed with anything you feel you want to donate. A prayer goes a long way. Thank you.
