Help My Dad Fight Salivary Gland Cancer

Hi everyone

 

My dad is my bestfriend.

 

 

 

 

He is the amazing father to my 5 siblings and I, and husband to my Step Mom.

 

My dad takes care of anyone and everyone, and he spreads love daily by just being a nice person.

 

He served in the Unites States Air Force, and fought in Desert Storm. He is a retired Vet, and he’s so proud of it.

 

 

 

 

This year my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Salivary Gland Cancer, a rare type of cancer that affects the glands and attaches to the saliva.

 

Over the last few weeks, the mass in his nose has grown so large that he can barely breathe. The cancer has expanded all throughout the right side of his face, affecting his cheekbone and now his jaw.

 

On October 5, 2021, my dad will be having his surgery to remove as much of the cancer out of his facial tissue as possible, while also be removing his cheekbone. This date is very sentimental to my family, because it’s also the day that my brother Tyler passed away nine years ago.

 

My dad is one of the most stubborn individuals I know, and he wouldn’t ever ask anyone for help even if he was a sick as he is now.

 

Unfortunately, insurance only pays for a certain portion of major surgeries, even those that are cancer related.

 

Though I can do my best financially to help my dad in this time, I can only do so much. I, just like my daddy, I don’t like asking people for help. But if it would help him feel the way he felt before the cancer took over it I would do anything, and everything I could to help him.

 

My parents are my world, and I would trade with my daddy any day so he wouldn’t be in pain anymore.

 

I know there are people that take advantage of platforms like this one, for their own personal gain.

 

I fortunately have been blessed to have a social media platform that I can use to help my family, so I will always do so.
