Help Our Dad Go Fishing Again

Hello friends, family, and loved ones. My name is Leah Schneidereit and I am writing this on behalf of my mom (Michele), my sister (Sheana), and most importantly, my dad - Rich.

As some of you may know, my father was diagnosed with a rare progressive illness called PSP, which presents symptoms that are very similar to Parkinson's Disease. However, PSP develops faster with a few more symptoms making it the most severe form of Parkinson's. In the past year or so, it has become increasingly difficult for my father to move about his home on his own due to balance and mobility issues caused by this disease. As you can imagine, it's also become incredibly difficult for him to enjoy activities outside the house.

Anyone who knows my father knows that he loves being outdoors, especially fishing. Our house is full of fishing trophies from the hundreds of bass fishing tournaments my dad competed in over the years. He loves to be on the water, and even chose a career path that allowed him to spend many of his days outdoors.

This fundraiser has been created to not only bring awareness to this challenging disease that my father is battling, but to hopefully help us provide a safe and accessible way for my dad to enjoy the outdoors again by casting a rod and reeling in a large mouth bass. We can do this with the help of an all-terrain, beach ready wheelchair! (see image below). However, this safe, easy, and comfortable piece of equipment has a steep price. We are hoping to raise enough money to help get my dad back on the water's edge with ease, and ensuring his safety while doing so, so that he can continue fishing through this dreadful battle.

We appreciate all of our friends and family, including those who my dad has worked with, fished with, and spent time with in the past. We thank you so much for your support, this means more to our family than you could ever imagine.
