Help my dad rebuild his life after a house fire

*UPDATE 2/21* THANK YOU to everyone who donated and shared my post. We are almost to our $3,000 goal- for first &last month's rent with a security deposit.

I have upped it an additional $1,000 in hopes that when he finds a place, he will have have a few dollars for house necessities.

I will make another post once he knows what he is in need of and has a place to store it. We will be looking for things such as kitchen supplies, blankets, towels, furniture ext.

As many of you know- my dad, Todd Colby, lost everything in a devastating house fire over the weekend. My dad typically works night shift, but had the night off and was sleeping when the fire occurred in his four plex. His neighbors directly sharing a wall, had accidentally started a fire while cooking. The building was evacuated leaving my dad trapped inside. Luckily, my dad woke up to a bright light (he is assuming this was the ceiling falling in), banging on the bottom door, smelling smoke, and heard on his scanner that someone was trapped inside on the second floor. Being a trained firefighter in the past, my dad was able to get out just in time, and was physically unharmed. While he remains in good physical health, he lost everything at no fault of his own. He unfortunately did not have renters insurance, and is now staying with me until he can find a new place to call 'home'. This fundraiser is in hopes of helping him get first and last month's rent, with a security deposit, so we can find him housing.

My dad is an extremely private person, and does not use any form of social media. I am starting this fundraiser on his behalf because he has a heart of gold, but will never ask for help.
