Help The Sanders-Aladdin Family After Altadena Fire

Donation protected
OUR FAMILY HOUSE IS GONE leaving my 90 year old grandmother, 82 year old uncle, and 3 others displaced.

My name is Rebekah Aladdin and I am representing my family — veteran actor, Henry G. Sanders and award-winning costume designer, Naila Aladdin-Sanders who have just lost everything in the Altadena fire.

Tuesday night, we safely evacuated my family elders away from the Eaton Canyon fire. Without electricity and cell phone reception, they didn’t fully understand the danger—they salvaged NOTHING; only taking minimal necessities for the night thinking they would be able to return home the next day.

5 people lived here and are now displaced; the eldest being my 90-year-old grandmother and 82-year old uncle. While you may recognize my Uncle Henry from his roles in Queen Sugar and Selma; to us, he’s a humble, working Vietnam veteran. He is the patriarch of my family and still recovering from a recent triple bypass heart surgery. My Aunt Naila is a retired artist on a fixed income and is the full-time caretaker for my grandmother.

My Uncle Henry and Aunt Naila have been the rocks of our family my entire life. I can’t begin to express what this home meant to my family as our mecca—everything is there: every holiday or celebration, all family photos, valuables, irreplaceable heirlooms —everything.

Please consider contributing to the stability to my family at this difficult time. Anything helps. Thank you so much.
