Dear Friends,
I’m writing to you in a time of great urgency and need. My family of 3 members is currently in Gaza, facing unimaginable circumstances. Me and my family are desperately seeking your support to help them evacuate to safety.
I am currently a housewife who lives with my husband and two little kids in the United Kingdom, I find myself thousands of miles away, feeling helpless as my family endures the hardships of the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The situation has become increasingly dire, and I fear for their safety daily. I went to visit my family in Gaza on September the 18th and I trapped in the war, I finally left Gaza on the 3rd of December with hopes of getting back to my kids in England where I left them with their dad and eventually going back to the place that I’ve always seen as home. Now in Gaza Everything is different, turned into ashes. Streets I used to hang out with my friends after school— ashes; Landmarks, buildings, people— ashes. Each day I try to reimagine them, but they are slowly fading from my memory because I am here instead of there. I can never see them again because they are all ash now. And now me, while being away from my family has made it immeasurably worse for me to cope with wars. I have always lived hand in hand with my family, sticking together.
I asked for help to evacuate my family in Gaza. The neighbourhood in which we live was destroyed and my family was displaced 4 times in 3 months. They being seized by death from all sides. my sister, my niece and my 70 years old ill dad who was injured in his feet and who suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes.
Since Oct 7th, I experienced the worst days in my life, being too far from my kids, seeing death many times in front of my eyes, feeling scared and terrified. and when I been evacuated the allow only me to leave Gaza and they refused to allow my family to cross with me to safety. I cant forget the hard moment when I've been forced to leave without them leaving them in the war with no help, with no support from anybody. I think about them everyday and night, I cant sleep properly, I cant give all my effort to my kids, I cant anymore focus on my life, my heart aches more and more and breaks into even more pieces. I remember when we have evacuated within Gaza three times, going back and forth, going from mid-Gaza to the north and going back to mid-Gaza, fleeing back to the south, and have witnessed death countless times, yet were able to make it miraculously.
Now I fear their fear. I cry with them. People ask me how I'm doing. I am in a country where I know nothing about my family and my loved ones, my mum passed away 3 years ago and I still only have my beloved dad, my only sister and her daughter. I came to England to stay physically beside my kids while my heart and mind is still stuck there, in a small tent in Rafah where I left my beloved family.
As seen below, photo out the the building and Neighbourhood me and my family had spent about 30 years in living, where my parents had put all of their nowhere work to get us a roof to live under, and my little niece who is only one and a half years old who suffers from many illnesses since the war began because of fear of bombing and lack of clean water, food and milk. she spends most of her time in hospitals rather than spending her time playing peacefully with little kids.
I have initiated this GoFundMe campaign to raise £27,000 to facilitate my family's evacuation to Egypt. Here's a breakdown of the funds:
£10,000 for Immediate Support: This portion will go towards providing immediate assistance to my family as they navigate their way to safety in Egypt. It will cover their basic needs for accommodation, food, flight tickets and other essentials during the transitional period and after, as we don't know what to do next or where will they be able to move or travel for treatment.
Permits and Crossing Fees: The bulk of the funds, £15,000, is crucial to cover the expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza and the crossing fees required at the Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah. This amount breaks down to £5,000 per person, including my dad, my sister and my niece.
£2,000 to cover GoFundMe's Transaction fees.
Your donation, no matter how small, will make a significant impact and contribute to reuniting my family in a safe environment. The funds raised will be used transparently and efficiently to ensure that every pound goes towards securing their evacuation.
Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues to help us reach our goal and bring my family to safety. Your support means the world to me, and I am immensely grateful for any assistance you can provide during this challenging time.
Thank you for your compassion, and generosity, and for standing with us in solidarity. Together, we can make a difference and help my family find the safety and security they urgently need.
With heartfelt gratitude.
