Help my family during this heartbreaking time.

Hi my name is Trena Ireland & I am fundraising for my sister in laws, Jennifer & Ashley Ireland. I am trying to get them a little help financially during the most devastating times of our lives. About 3ish months ago, Jennifer started having some pretty serious medical issues that ended up resulting in the doctors discovering she had cancer in both her liver & lungs. She was having countless tests, procedure’s & biopsy’s done to try & figure out where the cancer originated from. Depending on if it started in her liver or lungs was how they would proceed with treating it. We were hopeful for chemo & eventually a clean bill of health. Soon after that we were all completely blindsided & crushed to learn that the cancer had not only already spread to her lymph nodes but was attacking her liver so bad that treatment was no longer an option. None of us were prepared to hear from every doctor, hospitalist & oncologist that she was terminal & there was nothing more they could do. Unfortunately the only option was to bring Jen home to her house & go onto hospice & keep her as comfortable as possible. This news has completely devastated our entire family. Jennifer is a 36 year old mother of two. Adoria is 9 & Ethan is 7. She had just got her dream job & was doing so good. I can imagine how scared & devastated she must be. Watching my husbands family go through this has been some of the worst days of my life. Ashley & my mother in law Charlene have not left Jennifer’s side since this all started & has taken on the burden of being her caregiver. Jennifer is in excruciating pain & lost almost all her strength & has become bed bound. The pain meds help for a little bit but someone has to be with Jen 24/7. Hospice comes twice a week for a couple hours but other than that it’s up to family. Because of all of this, Ashley (who works at the VA) has taken a huge hit financially. She has exhausted all of her sick time & PTO to be with Jen. Both of my SIL’s have hearts of gold. They would all do anything they could to help any of us during our darkest hours. To say that Ashley is taking this very hard would be a understatement. I am asking for help financially so we can make sure all their rent & bills are paid & they can just focus on Jennifer in her final days. It’s been very hard to watch my husband & his sisters lose their sister but it’s making it even harder to watch Ashley worried about how she is going to make it financially. I would love to be able to give her the gift of financial freedom so she can take care of herself & Jen. Any funds raised above what she needs while taking care of our sister…Ashley will make sure it goes to Jennifer’s kids & whatever help they are going to need in the future.
