Help my family leave Gaza

Hi, my name is Sara. I am currently located in Sydney Australia. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my husband Khalil to help his family leave Gaza. While they have been granted visitor visas to come to Australia, unfortunately the Australian government is refusing to help let them leave as they don’t consider them “immediate family”. We are asking for help to evacuate 10 people including my husband’s parents ( Husamaldin & Asmaa) brother (Mahmoud 13), sister (Mariam 11), Sister (Wafaa 28), her 4 children (Jana, Lana, Mohammed, Omar 11,9,8,3) and her husband (Alaa). They need assistance leaving through the Rafah border crossing via Egypt. The Egyptian authorities are asking for approx $7000 USD per person and unfortunately we have no where near enough to be able to help them.

This whole family has been displaced and are currently living in a tent in the Rafah area. They were forced to leave everything behind them to seek safely, although really there is no where safe in the Gaza Strip. They are doing everything they can to survive and are holding on to the smallest amount of hope that they will come out of this war alive and well. While humanitarian trucks do reach the area they have evacuated to, unfortunately they are made to pay for basic necessities such as flour, fresh water, salt, sugar etc. They are also subject to constant air strikes and this has completely diminished their mental health. While the parents are trying to stay strong for their children there is only so much they can handle. They have all witnessed the death of close family members, including their own neighbours whose house were hit by an air strike.

We are asking for assistance to help them

Evacuate safely through Egypt

Spend some time in Egypt until their passports are ready as unfortunately not one person in this family has one (housing+food)

Plane tickets for 10 people

Basic necessities once they reach Australia such as housing, furniture, clothing and food

The money will be sent directly to Egypt to pay for their exit, if for any reason we are not able to help them, any funds raised will be donated straight to Gaza to help other families during this war.

They have been living in this war for almost 3 months now and they have had more than enough. We are deeply concerned if they don’t leave soon, they won’t survive.

My husband’s mother has severe oedema in her lower extremities and has ran out of medication, affecting her ability to walk properly. She also ran out of her thyroid medication (she had thyroid removal) causing further medical issues that are only subject to get worse as time goes on.

Please we are urging for any assistance to help this family leave Gaza as soon as possible
