Beirut- Help my family repair their homes
Donation protected
On the 4th of August, the world witnessed a horrible and deadly explosion that shook the heart of Beirut. This is where my family resides and miraculously they all got out alive. But the damages to the building they all share are major and this is why I created this gofundme.
I'm sharing the story as described by my cousin Mirna Mounayar.

During the 70s, our grandpa Elias Mounayar, a hard-working tailor, built a 4-storey building in Achrafieh Rmeil for his children to settle in. Years later, the building that he built for his children has also become home for his grandchildren and their families. The explosion on the 4th of August heavily damaged our building, directly overlooking the port... Fortunately, we all survived with minor and medium injuries, and the structure of the building is still safe as we heard back from several experts.
The Elias Mounayar building was built with all the love a grandpa can bear for his
grandchildren, and today it is home for my parents, Michel and Samira Kassably
Mounayar, my sister Michelle, my late uncle’s wife Amale, my cousin Elie and his family and also my newly-wed cousin Fadi.
August 4 was a day that changed our family's lives... We all lost our homes, cars and many of our personal belongings... but luckily we are alive and ready to repair. But in order to do so, WE NEED YOUR HELP.
Please help us return to our neighborhood and keep our grandfather's legacy alive.
Here are some pictures of the damages from our family's apartments.

In the picture, our late grandpa Elias Mounayar is surrounded by us: his grandchildren.
Taken 12 years ago, it reminds us of the promise we made to him many times to always stay united as one family and support one another.

Donate to us or to any person who lost his home or his business after the explosion that killed hundreds, wounded more than 4,000 and left 300,000 people without homes.
Thank you.
