I will tell my story that started with suffering until I reached success and achieved my goals. I’m Hadeel Al-Agha, 25 years old, born and raised in Gaza, where we are always just a step away from the pain that surrounds us. I used to live my life full of ambition and hope, dreaming of a bright future for myself and my family. Our dream was simple, but it meant everything to us: to live in peace, to build a future, and to find our place in this world filled with challenges.
I used to live a beautiful life with my mother and sister. Everything was in place, and we had everything we needed. We never lacked anything, even the small details that make life more enjoyable. My mother had diabetes, and the treatment was always available, thanks to God. I would see peace in her eyes because she knew she would always receive the necessary care in time.
We had a warm home, food on the table, and we lived our simple life without any worries or concerns. My sister and I worked hard to achieve our dreams, and our small project of selling accessories and bags was our source of joy. We saw it as a seed for a better future, where we worked hard, created beautiful products, and dreamed of expanding. With each piece we made, our belief grew stronger that we were on the right path. We saw it as our way out of daily struggles, away from the weight of the war that always loomed over us.
But in an instant, everything changed. War came unexpectedly, and everything was at risk. The home that once filled us with warmth was now empty, and the project we had worked so hard for became a distant memory. The treatment my mother needed became difficult to obtain, and the hospital we used to go to was now in the line of fire. Every time I looked at my mother, I felt helpless, as she was suffering more and more, and I couldn’t provide the treatment she needed.
Despite all the suffering, I still dream. I dream of the day we can rebuild our lives. I dream of a better future for my mother and sister, a future where hope shines even in the hardest of times. We need your help now more than ever.
