Help my family to evacuate from the Genocide in Gaza

I would never have imagined that I could ever even think of leaving my country, my home - the place where I was born and raised, built my life and raised my family. However, leaving now seems like the only option to preserve our lives and get out of the mass destruction that is happening in Gaza.

I am Dr Fawaz Idrees Abuziyada from Gaza, I have been working as a doctor and a Neurosurgeon at the Gaza Hospitals since I graduated, I have worked at all times, during peace and war. I have managed several cases in all action areas and saved them from death.

As you all know, from news reports, each day approximately 150 people are killed and 300 seriously injured here. After six months of continuous and truly terrible war, I am here, appealing to you, my brothers and sisters in humanity, to anyone, who can help.

Our story started last October. We were displaced to the south of Gaza. We left my main house, the home we built with so much love and passion and which was, in a blink of an eye, destroyed - turned to dust, at the beginning of November.

Having been displaced to the south, another invasion there, forced my family and I to flee, yet again, to another city, as our second home was totally destroyed by bombing and then burned out. Our third home, my son’s house (the picture above), has also been destroyed, which left us with no place to live. At the moment we are staying with 15 other families in a single apartment - trying to live another day, all trying to find a safe place for our families.

The awfulness of all of this has brought us to think of leaving Gaza, at least for a while, until there is a ceasefire so that at least we do not lose our lives.

Our losses have been great. We have lost many close family members, friends and everything that we own in this massively destructive war, but we are still alive. We are not ready to lose more.

We are a family of eight (including my wife, sons and daughters. We are tired, we deserve a better life and dream of a brighter future, at least for our children -, for their futures.
