Help My Grandchildren Live Life After Tragedy

Hello, my name is Robert Collazo, father of Marrisa Collazo. On December 16th, 2023, my daughter, Marrisa, was tragically murdered in the city of Oakland, CA. Marrisa was taken from her family at the age of 30. Since her death, Oakland PD has fervently worked to find the person responsible.

Please allow me to tell you about who Marrisa was as a person. She began her life in Union City, CA, before moving to Manhattan, New York, for much of her young years. She returned back to the Bay Area in her early teens. To know Marrisa was to love her. She had a charisma that attracted those around her. She loved to dance and make people smile. She was funny always the life of the party, but Marrisa had her demons. As many, she had her own battle with drug addiction. She knew she had family that loved and supported her and her journey to recovery, but sadly, her life was cut short. Although she was imperfect, she was still a human being, and no one had the right to take her life. Although she is gone she has 4 children, whose lives will never be the same.

Marrisa now leaves behind four young children, ages Emilio, 15, Elijah 13, Livy 12, and Isabel, 3. They are great kids and remain in our care for the rest of their lives. Emilio has dreams to be the world’s next lightweight champion and take up his career in boxing. He loves it.. Elijah loves animals, and dreams of becoming a vetinerian. Livy even at her young age, hopes to one day become a nurse. And little Isabel (she is only 3), is the most loving little girl, with the biggest heart. Of course this is a difficult time for all of them. Our hopes are just to provide for them and support them, so that all of their needs are met, and they won't be limited in the things they need to thrive in life. They are surrounded by love.
