Help My Kids Score Their Own Slap Shot
This amount is a total amount for all 3 kids for 1 year. My name is Stephen, and I'm a husband and father of 7 amazing kids, 2 of them are adults now. My 19 year old daughter is serving a mission for our chirch and will be going to college when she gets back. Im a nurse by profession. I have 2 boys and 1 girl that have really gotten into hockey over the past couple of years, and it's been incredible to watch their passion for the sport grow. They work hard both on and off the ice, and it's inspiring to see their dedication.
You know, I really love when they first started when they were little like 6 years old. It was funny just to watch them all suddenly start skating and then just fall right on their bums or score their first goal. I really enjoy seeing them learn and grow so much as hockey players. It's amazing to see how far they've come and how much they've developed their skills.
Hockey has actually helped me learn to appreciate the sport more. I've never really watched hockey or even learned the rules of the game, but you know, it's not just them. I've actually learned a lot about the game myself, like the offsides rule. I'm still trying to figure out how that's possible...but I'm getting there!
Hockey has had a huge impact on my kids' lives. Not only are they developing their athletic skills, but they're also building important friendships, learning teamwork, and finding a healthy outlet for their energy. I've seen my son support his goalie teammates even when they let in a few goals get past their goalie, which shows that he's learning valuable life lessons about sportsmanship and empathy.
Hockey has become more than just a sport for my kids – it's given them focus, goals, and a strong work ethic. They've even started saving their own money doing jobs for the neighbors to buy new equipment! My kids are Paul, 12, Owen, 9, and Emily, 4. They're all at different stages of their hockey development, but they're all equally passionate about the sport.
Hockey is also teaching them important life lessons like resilience and perseverance. They're learning that it's okay to make mistakes and fall down, but what truly matters is getting back up and keep going. Those are qualities that will serve them well both on and off the ice.
As a father, with a nurses income deciding what to sacrifice for the benefit a child and it having a direct impact on the other children is tough. Hockey has become a huge part of their lives, and it's important to me that they have the opportunity to pursue their passion for the sport.
I'm asking for your help to support my kids' hockey dreams. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference. Your support will help cover the costs of equipment, league fees, and other expenses associated with playing hockey. Your donation will mean so much to our family, and it will be greatly appreciated
