Help my mom get her pet scan

As most of you know back in 2016 my mom, Penny Hout, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer, a rare and very aggressive form of cancer. She received months of chemo treatment and thankfully went into remission. She was cancer free for five years and was getting ready to try to return to work and get her life back to normal. As of January 2022 we found out her cancer has returned and she’s going to have to fight for her life again. My sisters and I were completely devastated. We got used to the thought that our mom was going to live to see them graduate and have a life of their own. She had her biopsy’s done and they confirmed that it’s cancer and told her they need to get a pet scan to determine what stage and if it has spread to any other parts of her body. Her insurance denied the pet scan and said they cannot justify paying for it and that her doctor needs to conduct more test before they could potentially justify the cost. As if things weren’t hard enough for her they just had to make it harder. We are now trying to get the funds together to pay for the pet scan of pocket. They type of cancer she has wont wait around for the insurance to finally agree to pay for it. The longer she does not receive treatment the more her metastatic cancer has the opportunity spread and make it harder for her to beat. We have been calling around to find the cheapest place to have it done and everywhere has told us 1500$- 2000$. We are hoping to raise the money in the next couple days so we can get ahead of this nasty disease and hopefully
make it easier to fight and less chances to spread. I asked for 3000$ to cover the pet scan and to give her some to set aside for any future treatments or out of pockets expenses she may have while fighting for her life. My mom is a nurse who has spent half her life fighting to save others lives and now she’s fighting for hers. Our family needs as many prayers as we can’t get right now. Even if you can’t donate if you could just share my moms story it would mean the world to us!
