Help my mom in her battle with Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone, some of you may know me but for those who don’t, my name is Maddie and I am a barista at Starbucks in my local small town. The past year has been a rollercoaster for my family beginning with the passing of my grandmother (maternal) last October. Since then, my mother, Laurie, has been in and out of the hospital fighting cancer, first with the removal of her right kidney in April which had a tumor the size of a lime. To having multiple lumps removed from her breast in August to then begin chemo in October. Chemo has certainly had its effect on my mother with trips in and out of hospitals. She has no strength to stand up on her own, she has no appetite, her skin is peeling, lost all of her hair, and her vision goes completely blank at times. Her most recent trip to the hospital, on November 18th, was the most intense and emotional. She was in an unresponsive state and was in the early stages of entering cardiac arrest. She is currently in the ICU unit.
I am an only child and am 20 years old, currently attending school. My father does not currently work as he is retired and my mom has been on disability since April. I am the only source of income for the household and it isn’t enough between household and medical bills. I work multiple jobs to try to provide for myself and my family, but have to call out or leave early at times due to my mother’s medical complications and appointments. I am not one to reach out for help, but I do not know what else to do as my family is financially struggling.
All funds will be put towards my mother’s medical bills, treatment and recovery. Every little bit helps, I am very appreciative of everyone in the community who checks up on me and my family. Your words of kindness touch my heart and help me see the at I am not alone.
Please share with others, every little bit helps. Thank you so much. ❤️
