Just about a month ago, on Feb 13, 2023, my mother was on her way to bought herself and my brother and sister airplane tickets to Viet Nam since it is has been 7 years since she visit her hometown in Viet Nam when she was stopped by a robber and not only robbed her belongings but assaulted her. The attacker/robber hit her so hard that it resulted in a severe spinal cord injury. The doctors say that this injury has affected my mother's left leg, currently making her a disabled person. She is currently unable to walk and requires round-the-clock care. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly challenging time for both my mom and our family. Not only are we dealing with the emotional trauma of what happened, but we are also struggling with the financial burdens of her on going care. My mother has always been the head of our family, and seeing her in this condition has been devastating. She has always been a strong and independent woman, and to see her struggle with simple tasks such as getting out of bed or using the bathroom is heartbreaking. As a family, we are doing everything we can to support her, but the costs of everyday expenses and ongoing care such as apartment rent, water bill, electric bill, etc. Not only that I have two younger siblings who are still in high school with my grandmother and in my mom's current state we don't have a lot of money for food. That's why I am turning to you, my friends, family, and supporters for help. We have set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for my mother's ongoing care. Your donations will help cover the cost of ongoing care, everyday expenses, medication, and any other expenses that may arise during this difficult time. We know that times are tough for everyone right now, and any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated. Even the smallest donation can make a difference in our lives. Your contribution will not only help my mother get the care she needs but will also give us hope and strength during these challenging times. Thank you for your time, your support, and your generosity. Sincerely, Linh Thuy Duong and My Mother
