Urgent Surgery Needed: Save My Mom from a Spinal Infection

My name is Michelle, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea for help. My mother, a vibrant and active 56-year-old who recently retired, has always been full of life. But now, she is battling an excruciating and rare spinal infection called spondylodiscitis (also known as discitis-osteomyelitis), and it has turned our world upside down.

What started as discomfort quickly escalated into unbearable pain—radiating through her back and arms, leaving her unable to move freely. She experiences extreme sensitivity, weight loss, and loss of appetite. The nights are the hardest, as the pain intensifies, robbing her of rest.

After countless MRIs, CT scans, and blood tests, we finally got a diagnosis, but her condition is worsening. Despite being on strong antibiotics and bed rest, the infection remains, and the risk of it spreading to her organs and tissue is terrifying.

Her doctor has recommended an urgent and complex spinal surgery to remove the infected discs and stabilize her spine. This involves:
