Help My Parents Keep Their Forever Home
Donation protected
My father is on disability, and he will stop receiving his checks in 9 years, which means he will no longer be able to afford our family home. My mother is a two-time cancer survivor (colon and breast cancer) and for the last year has been unemployed, fighting for disability, and going through a long medical journey to figure out if she has early dementia and possibly Parkinson’s. They have $240,000 left on their mortgage.
My dad is one of the most amazing people I know. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with MS about 12 years ago and is in a wheelchair, has a feeding tube, and has had to completely let go of the life he once loved, but this has never once changed his positive and loving attitude.
Before my dad got sick, he was an amazing computer programmer. He loved everything I.T. He now spends his free time on Reddit, dedicating himself to helping other computer lovers and programmers with problems, writing software, and technical issues. He also spends his free time figuring out ways to uplift others and spread as much positivity as he can, whether that is donating items to people in need, donating whatever he can to charity, or going online and finding a thread to chime in on. He is the nicest, most humble person I know.
My mother is amazing. She has worked hard her whole life and has fought so many battles but has never once let her situations define her.
My dream is to pay off my parents' house and let them live in peace and be worry-free for the rest of their years. They are in their 60s and do not deserve to stress about where they’ll live next.
When my dad bought this house 11 years ago, his plan was for it to be our family’s “forever home” where any of us could come to if we ever needed to do so, for the rest of forever.
I know this is a long shot, but absolutely any donation is appreciated. I’m dedicated to helping my parents and know that I can make this happen!
