Help Me and My Single Mom Recover From The Palisades Fire

My name is Mikaela Tallett, and I am a resident of the Pacific Palisades. My mom, my three pets, and I have just lost our beloved home to the Palisades wildfire. We are absolutely devastated - we were unable to grab anything but our pets and enough clothes to last two days. We lost everything; all of our childhood photos, sentimental belongings, and memories are all gone, and we're struggling to figure out how to move forward from here.

My mom, Cherie Marquez, worked from home and made a living out of this home. We need to figure out where we will reside temporarily, and eventually, we will need to rebuild and purchase all new furniture and all the necessities required to build a new home.

I have set up a GoFundMe for me and my mom in the hopes that people will be able to help us with these next steps. I don't expect any large donations, and even just $1 helps, truly.

We have been living in this home for the past four years, and it was so incredibly dear to us. This community means everything to us, and we have never felt so accepted and welcomed into a neighborhood in our entire lives. I am a proud graduate of Pali High and have worked at the Bay Theater in the Palisades Village since 2022. It breaks my heart to see our town devastated in this way.

My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected and aches for those who lost their beloved homes as well. And I'm praying for any pets that were lost in this awful tragedy.

The Pacific Palisades will always be a huge part of my identity and will always be my home at heart.

Truly anything helps, nothing is too small.
