Help My Sister Heal From Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
In June 2023, at just 31 years old, my beautiful sister Kim was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She first found a lump in her left breast which led to a series of tests and biopsies, confirming the cancer had spread extensively in the affected area. She was told she would have to undergo an aggressive treatment plan in order to treat the cancer.
Kim bravely underwent a mastectomy, followed by 16 rounds of chemotherapy, 25 rounds of radiation, and additional strong medications. After months of grueling treatments, we were overjoyed when a final scan showed there was no evidence of disease (NED) and she was declared cancer free. It seemed like she could finally focus on healing, recovering, and reclaiming her life.
However, this was short lived. As in December 2024 (just before Christmas) Kim underwent another scan after experiencing pains in her lower back. The results from the scan revealed a large tumour in her pelvis. The cancer had came back, and she was given the diagnosis of stage 4 cancer, which was inoperable and unable to be cured. The only options available were hormonal therapy and an inhibitor treatment (chemotherapy tablets) which would aim to shrink and stabilise the tumour to prolong Kims life, but not cure the cancer.
We were absolutely devastated to find out that there were very limited treatment options available, but after extensive research, we have discovered alternative treatments and protocols that have successfully helped others in Kim’s situation. We believe these treatments could save Kim’s life. Or atleast extend it beyond what is expected from her diagnosis. Unfortunately, they come at a significant cost and are not funded by Medicare (Australia’s NHS).
We are hoping to raise as much as we can to be able to give Kim access to the treatments she needs. She has been so brave and strong throughout this whole process, and we believe with the help of these alternative treatments, she can become cancer free once again.
Any contribution, big or small, truly means the world to us. We are so grateful for any of your support.
Thankyou xxx
