We are racing against time, once again we are asking for your help to save Shimaa and Saja, and with how horrible things going in Gaza, Adam may leave too, things getting worse than any of us can imagine, and while we reading this setting behind our screens, Adam and the girls can't charge their phones or connect to the internet, they evacuate for the 9th time 3 days ago, now they are like thousands of Palestinians in a tent, where Adam need to go for more than 2km to bring water, I'm not reminding you about your responsibility to engage in changing the world that we all live in together, but I'm reminding you that we all once or we still dreamers, who spent most of our time investing in our dreams, Adam, Shimaa and Saja just like us, Shimaa and Saja are fresh graduate, Adam just came back from Washington DC to Gaza months ago, they all trapped in Gaza now, after losing our dad, our home and even the connection with our neighbours and friends.
So don't let them down, let's do it one more time together, there is no limit to how many times we should try to save lives, so let's try one more time and hopefully, they will be able to evacuate Gaza next week if we could get the full amount this week.
Thanks for being here for us.
Thank you to everyone who shared and donated,
It's insane how the cost of the permit goes higher every week, it's the reality and it's what is happening in Gaza now.
We thought that the money we collected was enough for the permit at that time, and it was enough, but the price went higher than before, it's now 10,000 for each person and we are trying to include Adam as well, the situation is going horrible, the IOF was targeting Nasser Hospital, where Adam and my sisters live near, they are very close this time, so we are going to include Adam as well with the permit, we can't leave him there anyway.
we are trying our best to reach this goal, and we need your help again, we truly appreciate everything you have done and need your help one last time.
My name is Anis Aburok, a Gaza-Palestinian residing in Ireland. During the 28 years of my life, I lived through 5 wars in Gaza, during which I witnessed the most horrific war crimes against civilians and people there. We evacuated our home an endless number of times, during each time there was a war or escalation. I know exactly what it means to be in a place like Gaza during the war. While you are reading this, I have the rest of my family in Gaza.
Weeks before this genocide that had been going on for more than 70 days, my father died because there was no opportunity to treat him in the hospital, which was full of wounded and empty of medicine. My family also lost their home, as it was bombed twice during the first month of this genocide, and then the entire neighbourhood was wiped out a few days ago. I still have two sisters and a brother there, and as I write, they are vulnerable to being bombed at any second.
My sisters sleep in a UN school with more than 40 other children and women, while my brother, who volunteers for humanitarian work, sleeps in a small tent in the hospital courtyard, I cannot describe what they are going through there, where bombs fall like rain around where they are, and where my brother fights every day to get for some food, and even water for the family, like the rest of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and at a time when the bombing is increasing insanely in Khan Yunis, we are racing against time to evacuate my sisters Saja and Shaima Aburok from Gaza as quickly as possible to the nearest safe place - Egypt - and with all the psychological pressure, the anxiety and stress and the daily scenes that my sisters deal with, it becomes more urgent.
Just months ago, Saja graduated with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and translation and Shaima graduated with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and French translation, both are now without any hope, a safe place or even enough food for the family in our homeland. Now they are staying in a UN school, with Israeli tanks only a few miles away, and after losing our home in Gaza, we are now trying to raise some money to help pay for Shaima and Saja's travel costs so that they can leave Gaza as soon as possible. we may include Adam too.
Evacuation is very limited and unfortunately very expensive. The cost of a permit for adults used to be 8000$, now it's 10,000$. Therefore, we would need about 30,000$ to enable Shaima, Saja and Adam to flee from the war in Gaza.
Shaima and Saja deserve the opportunity to be in a safe place as all Palestinians deserve. Please help us to evacuate them from Gaza so that when the conflict ends they can return and help rebuild Gaza.
Thank you
