Shawn's Memorial Fund

Hello everyone, my name is Kyra, and this is my little sister and her beautiful Family Allysia and Benito, their son Luis , and of course, her wonderful mother-in-law Benitos mom Shawn, Shawn was and still tries to be an active member of our community. She has done lots of work with Salvation Army and helping others while carrying for her mom herself, she is also an active member in her church and loved taking Luis with her, he absolutely adored and loved going with her and one of thier favorite things to do currently and in the past together is watching WWE (COOLEST GMA EVER). I just want to say from the bottom of my heart that I do not just see this gracious woman as just my sisters mother in law but one of my sisters closest friends, one of Allysias and Benito’s biggest supporters, and of course one of the best cheerleaders and grandmother's my nephew could ask for. This absolutely gracious woman and her son Benito took my sister and her son into thier lives with open arms and an open heart, Shawn and Benito stepped up fell in love with and took on not only my sister but the full responsibility of my nephew, they took them in as thier own without hesitation, they took on the rolls of grandma and dad. When they had fallen on hard times like we all have in the last few years she opened her doors to them while struggling already, and now they are doing everything they can to return the hospitality and extra love she extended to them whenever they needed it. Unfortunately, Shawn was diagnosed with heart failure while she had already been dealing with the daily struggles of having diabetes. Although she was fortunate enough to receive a heart transplant years back, within the last year she was placed on hospice and they have been doing everything they can to help her and make sure she is getting to all of her normal checkups & Dr appointments here in town and now more frequently emergency appointments and trips to Portland. They are doing everything they can to make sure she is comfortable as they are now transitioning with her into her final couple of months here with us on earth, they are doing anything and everything they can to make sure she is happy and given as much love as they can possibly give her. Benito is currently working full time to take care of not only his mom physically and financially but he is helping care for my sister who has had to have several life saving surgeries with in the last 2 years and with her body still healing she's not supposed to work or lift anything heavy currently, she typically works full time as a caregiver but is unable to do so right now. She helps take care of shawn on a daily basis while Benito is at work and thier son at school. They need help financially to not only help Shawn get supplies for her day to day needs and bills but to help get things to make her transition easier as she's losing more mobility and needing more assistance with daily activities everyday. In the midst of taking care of Shawn every day physically and financially, they are now faced with the financial responsibility of her afterlife care. They have used the majority of their savings going to and from Portland, Dr's appointments, and moving her into their home to be able to be with her and care for her every day. Please help bless this family and lessen the financial burden so they can continue to care for Shawn together in her final days. Thank you all, and God bless.
