Help my Ukrainian Family Resettle
Donation protected
Hello everyone. Many of you know me through work or church. For those of you who don't know me, I am a Ukrainian immigrant who has been living in the US for the past 12 years. My mother, 11-year-old sister, and babushka (grandmother) live in Ukraine. Recently I received an emergency phone call from my mom saying that the whole family was awakened by the sounds of explosions from aerial bombing. They were terrified. They left immediately and found shelter in the basement of the school that my mom runs. Here they spent four days hiding underground until they managed to escape to the relative safety of Moldova. The next day, they wasted no time and got out to the Czech Republic (Czechia).
I am flying to Prague today (March 7) to help my family get settled temporarily in Czechia. Please help me raise $20,000 to pay for their basic short-term living expenses as we all watch the situation unfold. I promise to update you regularly to share with you the reality on the ground and our evolving plans for their safety.
Also, I should mention that my mom's husband Albert and my uncle Sergei are not allowed to leave Ukraine. My aunt and uncle are stuck in Enerhodar where the nuclear power plant is occupied by the Russians.
Your donations will help pay for housing, food, clothes, and medicine for my immediate family. Please give what you can.
