Help My Wife Get Her CF Medicine

Hi, my name is Tom. I’ve been married to my wife, Angie, for almost 14 years.

Angie has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease, that affects multiple body systems, especially the lungs and gastrointestinal.

Angie has been on Trikafta for a couple years now and has been doing great, but my employer changed insurance companies and this one doesn’t cover specialty medications. Trikafta is an amazing drug that vastly improves her Cystic Fibrosis condition and yet, now we can’t get it.

At only two weeks removed from the medication, she has begun coughing all the time as her lungs start to fill with the sticky secretions that the Trikafta helped take care of. Her body is starting to revert without it and her GI symptoms that have been almost nonexistent the last couple years are coming back.

I am very afraid for my wife. We’ve tried to get this medication through multiple means but can’t get it. This medication is so expensive, there’s no way we can afford it ourselves. It’s $27,000 per month and we need your help.

The $199,000 would cover the drug for the rest of the year and when I can change insurance in January, I will make sure that it’s covered.. we just need to get to that point.
