Help Na’im
Na’im Nixon is a local artist and father , who has assisted on over 10 local murals for 48 Blocks AC 2019. On Sunday, May 31st, Na’im attended a protest in honor of George Floyd and the countless others who have lost their lives to police violence. As the protest winded down and many left, some continued to march. They riot police , who weren’t seen during the initial protest, were unleashed on the crowd. Frustration boiled over and many smashed windows which led to looting. To be clear, Na’im was not involved or even charged with looting. The riot police advanced on Na’im as he stood in the street. They took him down, beat him and maced him. As others tried to come to his aid , they were maced and assaulted. Na’im has been incorrectly identified by many on social media as the person who was maced and then rushed the riot police. This is false. The video and pictures prove otherwise. As proven in the pictures and video , that man has on gray pants and different shoes, Naim has navy pants on. You can see them separately in the video and still images . We are asking for help to cover his medical, legal fees and related expenses. Any donation will help!
thank you,
from his mother, son and family
