Help Nancy Bundy kick cancer to the curb!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jamie Young, and I'm fundraising for my aunt, Nancy Bundy. I'm blessed to have an amazing aunt like Nan and beyond being my wonderful aunt I was also lucky to call her a co-worker for over 10 years. She is hilarious, she is kind, she is loving, she's a total softy, she's our Nan and she needs our help!
On Thursday, June 8, Nancy was diagnosed with Stage III inoperable endometrial cancer. Soon she will begin chemotherapy treatments and has a long road ahead of her during which she will need all those who love her to rally around and help her through.
She has given to so, so, so many over the years, both in big ways and in small. All those blessed enough to know Nancy, have also been cared for and loved by her in one way or another. Now, it's our turn to care and love her right back.
As many of you know, Nancy has dedicated the last 35+ years of her life to taking care of, teaching and loving the children of south Kansas City through her work as a preschool teacher at Punkin' Patch Child Development Center. Anyone who has had a child attend that center knows that there is no love as deep as the love for Nancy by all of those children lucky enough to have been in her care over the years. It is said over and over again when staff members run into PP alumni or the family of an alum that the first person they always ask about is Nancy. She is beloved.
As you can imagine, working at a childcare center as you battle cancer is incredibly dangerous. Between dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy and the resulting lack of immunity due to her treatments, her oncologist has advised her to not take that risk. Nancy will be getting her port placed this week and chemotherapy starting soon after. Once chemo starts she will no longer be able to work. As she faces the road ahead, the financial burden of medical care and bills while being on leave from work is a great one, especially for a childcare provider.
Let's help lift that burden so that Nancy can focus on the most important thing at hand...kicking this cancer to the curb!
Every little bit helps. Truly.
Your kind donations will go directly to Nancy to be used for bills and financial needs in the months ahead.
Thank you in advance for the support and prayers that I know will wrap Nancy in love and strength as she faces the challenges ahead.
