Help Nancye Overcome Tragedy and Loss
Donation protected
On Saturday, June 29, my husband’s sister Nancye (Nan), my sister-in-law, was the victim of an unimaginable tragedy! She was shot at her home in Richmond, Kentucky, by a man whom she was trying to assist with his health recovery and to get back on his feet. After shooting her in the face/jaw, the assailant set her house on fire. She was able to escape and call for help. When authorities arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and the perpetrator did not survive.
This week, she has undergone two surgeries to try and put her jaw back together. The shrapnel in her neck/spine and missing teeth will be addressed in the coming weeks and months. While we are incredibly grateful that she survived this horror, she and her son are now left without a home. Everything is gone, including their three beloved cats! Generations of photos and furniture passed down through the decades all gone in an instant! She has nothing left but the clothes she was wearing that day. Nan has worked over 20 years as a community case manager/advocate she is currently working part-time and has limited insurance and benefits. Experiencing an attempted murder, arson, and suicide would be unbearable for anyone. Nan is a fighter and we know with God’s love and grace all things are possible.
We are creating this GoFundMe page as many people have asked how they can help her during this extremely difficult time. Please feel free to share this link; no donation is too small. All monies raised will go towards medical expenses, food, clothes, and housing. PLEASE, EVERY DOLLAR WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE! We are giving this up to God and ask for continued prayers for Nan and her children.
