Help Naomi and Jai rise from the ashes

Hi, my name is Tee and I'm trying to raise money for my dear friend Naomi and her brother Jai who lost everything in a devastating house fire. Jai moved to Lismore and into the flood affected home to help the owner re-build. Naomi moved up to help Jai with the renovations only two months ago and was just starting to find her groove in the Northern Rivers.

On Monday 21st of August, Naomi was woken up by her dog at 1:30am. Her bed was on fire. She picked up her dog, Zeppie and tied her up outside. She ran back in to try and put out the fire but it was too late, fire had taken hold of the old timber home and the building began to collapse around her. She made it out and watched the house and all of her and Jai's possessions burn to the ground as she waited for fire and rescue. She was taken by ambulance to assess third degree burns to her leg and smoke inhalation.

Jai was away on work at the time of the blaze and woke up to the news that his house had burnt down and his sister was in hospital- he didn't have much more detail than that. Two torturous days later, he was able to give his sister a hug and finally lay eyes on the ashes of his belongings in the shell of his home.

There's no way to over state the value of the items lost in the fire. Decades of trinkets, treasures and favourite clothes. Tens of thousands of dollars worth of music gear (including a brand new bass guitar that Naomi bought for Jai. Neither of them got to play it). Tools, photos, ID documents, tangible investments.

Something else that can't be overstated is how incredible Naomi and Jai are. They're some of the most genuine, caring people I have met and I can't think of anyone I know who deserves more of a hand up right now than these two precious souls.

Naomi and Jai have received donations of clothes and bedding, Zeppie even got a new bed!

The thing that's going to help most, right now is some money in their pockets. Recovering from losing everything is a really costly affair. Please dig deep to help get these two incredible people back on their feet.
