Help Naomi Fight Stage Four Breast & Bone Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Naomi Salazar, and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a sense of vulnerability that I never thought I would have to face.

As many of you already know, I was diagnosed with stage four HER2 double + breast and bone cancer. This is a very aggressive form of cancer. Had they caught it earlier, I'd likely be cancer-free. But at this stage, I'm fighting to stay alive. And to live for as long as I can. I've had to endure long phases of harsh chemo and have taken every opportunity to stop cancer from spreading. I work very hard at keeping my head in the right space while pushing my body to overcome even though it's failing. I've got a lot of fight left in me.

This has been an unexpected, extremely challenging journey, and I find myself in need of support. There's an old saying for those of us living in the U.S. that you're always one considerable health risk away from filing for bankruptcy. And we've all had to deal with this on some level as we navigate through these unethical medical plans.

About Me:

I'm a big believer in the power of my mind, resilience, the ability to change, and the importance of using my privileges to stand up and support others. Despite my efforts, I find myself in a situation that requires more than just personal strength. And perhaps late in life, I've learned to ask for what I need. So I humbly ask for your support as I navigate through this challenging chapter of my life.

My Challenge:

The medical costs associated with cancer treatment are immense, and I am facing a range of expenses, from chemotherapy sessions to medications, medical tests, and other unforeseen costs. These treatments are not only physically taxing but also come with significant costs. Even with health insurance, I am facing a substantial financial burden, and I anticipate that these expenses will continue to rise. And while I continue to work, I've had to scale way back, which has been challenging.
