Naori is a queer Black trans woman, student, aspiring singer, and fashion enthusiast who lives in Northern Virginia. She’s lost the support of family and friends in her pursuit of transitioning medically, and she needs your help during this uncertain time. As of right now, she does not have enough to cover groceries, rent, bills and replacing her phone which recently broke.
This is a very urgent situation, so any amount donated would make a world of difference. The current fundraising goal of $8,000 is to cover the most pressing expenses, but this amount will increase as her situation becomes more stable and funding shifts to her gender-affirming surgeries.
Currently, Naori has very unstable, unsafe employment and has faced discrimination when applying to jobs because her body and name don’t match. In public, she gets angry stares, called slurs, and fears for her safety. Naori doesn’t want to resort to any work that will put her in danger. She has exhausted university emergency funds and available loans. Her access to financial stability has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds raised will help to secure housing, school, food, health resources, and a future for Naori.
