Hello everyone. My name is Mina and I am the organizer for this campaign. I live in the United States and my mission is to help as many people as possible to get to safety. I have personally been assisting nonstop for the past 8 months, but I can no longer do it alone. I really need your help.
The main purpose of this campaign is to provide food, water and medicine in the Gaza Strip for the families I am currently supporting as well as to get them to Egypt when the border opens up again. Humanitarian aide is scarce and what food and water that gets into Gaza are sold at exorbitant prices. People are starving to death. HOW DOES MONEY REACH THE PALESTINIANS FOR DAILY NECESSITIES
Funds are sent via bank wire transfers, Western Union, MoneyGram or Paypal to trusted relatives and friends of people who are cash rich in the Gaza Strip living in surrounding countries such as Greece, Turkey, UAE, Malta etc. Once the relatives and friends receive said funds, the cash rich Gazans will hand over the money to the people I have been assisting for the past 8 months. AHMED'S STORY:
Hello. My name is Ahmed Awad. I am a 2-year-old baby boy currently living in Khan Yunis on the streets. My auntie Mina has sent me some funds so hopefully I will be living in a tent shortly.
My family used to live in Northern Gaza and as you all may know, not only are we under siege, but are starving to death. My papa Majd was a construction worker and he built us a beautiful home all by himself. That home was a place filled with joy and laughter. Now it is all gone as it was bombed :(
We escaped towards South for our lives with nothing, but we were bombed everywhere we went. We eventually settled in Rafah at the southernmost border to Egypt, but drones were constantly buzzing over our heads and our neighbours kept being bombarded. It is a miracle we are still alive.
As the invasion in Rafah had started in earnest, we trekked on our feet to Khan Yunis and I have been sleeping on dirt roads. Hopefully we will be getting a tent soon as we can utilize the money Mina has sent us by PayPal. Every dollar you send to us can make a difference, even $1-5. BREAKDOWN OF ESTIMATED COSTS FOR EVACUATION:
- Passport fees: $150 per person (a total of $600 for 4 family members).
- Evacuation Fee/Egyptian Coordination: $5,000 per adult (Considering current evacuation fees and coordination expenses at the Egyptian border which keeps increasing).
- Visa application fees: $280 per person (a total of $560 for 2 family members)
- Transportation to Rafah Crossing: $1,100 per adult
- Flight from Cairo to destination "One way": $1,200 per person. (a total of $3,600 for 4 family members).
- GoFundMe Fee: $1,885 (Approximately 2.9% of each donation, covering the platform’s fee).
- And some extra living costs for a couple of months.
