Help Nat Escape Texas for a Better Future in Chicago

My name is Nat, and I'm a 22 year old transfem who has spent my entire life here in Texas. Since November, my life has been a complete mess; the election made Texas a ticking time bomb, my moving plans had to radically change, and I had to push back graduating until the summer. And now, my license change could be undone. While I do not want to leave my family and all my friends behind, I need to get out of Texas as fast as possible.
I understand that a lot of people are struggling, and I'm grateful for anything, even just a share. I just want to make sure I can survive the uncertainty of the job market without being forced to stay at home while I watch my rights be stripped away.
The Numbers
Right now, I have $2,222.99 saved up. For full transparency, $584.05 of that money was raised in a previous fundraiser that I had to close due to the person I was raising money with dropping out (more details in this quote chain). Ideally, I would have around $7,000 when I move. This would cover the first few months of rent, bills, and groceries while I look for a job. A good chunk of the $5,000 I need I can get through selling my car; however, the estimated value of my car is around $3.4-4.6k, and that's a high estimate. There's a solid chance I struggle to get my car sold as well, so that money isn't guaranteed.
Why leave?
The metaphorical sword at my throat has cratered my mental health and has lead to a drop in my academic performance. I've had to deal with transphobia from my apartment (putting me with three men) and my government, who most likely will soon declare changed licenses null and void, opening me up to even more discrimination from landlords and employers. Right now, my license is my only documentation that shows the right name and gender marker (not counting my social security card, which doesn't have a marker). The potential to lose that last bit of proper identification forced me to move my moving plans up, and to start this fundraiser. This really was my last option; it was either this or a loan.
Where will the money go?
All money will go to my savings, and will only be spent on things like bills, rent, and transportation. This money is exclusively so I can live for at least a few months while I try to find a job that works with my degree. If I find a job before I move, this money will be saved in an emergency fund for things like medical emergencies.
When are you moving?
August or September.
What will you be doing before you move?
Finishing up college and job hunting. Ideally, I'll have a job lined up before I move. If not, I will at least have some money to live off of.
