Help Natalie & Alex After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
On January 8, our best friends Natalie and Alex, their 3 year old son Isaac (or Kiki) and dog Norman lost everything in the Eaton fire. Thankfully they are all safe, but their house and everything inside it burned to the ground along with the neighborhood they dearly love.
Natalie and Kiki initially left the house to stay at her sister's because of the intense wind storm and potential loss of power and the heat. They only had a change of clothing for the next day, never imagining they'd come back to nothing but a chimney and an ash covered foundation. Alex was at work and by the time the news of the fire broke, it was too late to go back to collect anything else.
Natalie & Alex fell in love with Altadena at first sight. They have lived in the neighborhood for 8 years, recently moving into a small craftsman bungalow that had stood on Las Flores Drive for over 110 years (like many homes around it). They put everything they had into it, slowly renovating, often doing the work themselves. Natalie had just finished painting her dining room yellow, the color chips we agonized over still on the wall. Their home was warm and welcoming filled with cherished things collected over many years and moves - Natalie had designed most of the furniture pieces herself.
So many of us have spent countless days and nights with Natalie, Alex and Kiki in this quiet corner of Los Angeles. Playdates, hangouts in the garden, design labs in their living room, outdoor theater performance at the park up the street, casual dinners. They created something really special here and shared it with all of us. Now we'd love to show them the same support and kindness when they need it most.
We know so many people affected by these fires and are trying to support as many people as we can. But if you are able to, please donate to help Natalie, Alex, Kiki, and Norman regain some stability and start to restart their life. The funds we collect will solely be used to cover expenses that are not being covered by any other disaster relief aid.
Please share this GoFoundMe with your friends and family if you are comfortable doing so.
