Help Natalie Grace Through Her Medical Journey

My name is Amber Place and I am starting this fundraiser for my sister, Alisha Bowden and her husband Tyler Bowden. As a lot of you know, their daughter, my niece, Natalie Grace was born with a very rare genetic disorder. With that, she’s been diagnosed with sleep apnea and has been undergoing a lot of medical issues. They saw ENT today and he said she quit breathing 195 times per hour. He said it’s the most severe case he’s ever seen and her numbers are off the charts. He said she can try the bipap but should it not work, the trach would be the next option. Her pulmonologist called and said she talked to ENT and would like to admit Natalie to the hospital. She said her central sleep apnea is so severe that she doesn’t feel like it’s safe to wait for a bipap to be delivered to the house and that it would be best to do it in a inpatient setting. After a couple of days of trying the bipap if they see no progress on her accepting the bipap we will be talking about performing the tracheostomy while in the hospital. This news was completely unexpected and the hospital stay to see how she tolerates the bipap will be a couple of days then from that point if she needs the trach it will be a minimum of 7-10 day stay in recovery. This fundraiser is to help them with the unexpected expenses they will be facing while making trips back and forth to Columbus to do what’s right for their daughter, while Tyler still tries to work through this difficult time.
