Help Nate with medical bills from hit and run

Donation protected

Hi everyone. As some of my close friends and family are already aware, these last few months have been difficult. Earlier this summer I injured my head at work and needed to get staples in my head after I split it open. About a month later I was injured yet again when a car swerved into the bike lane on Liberty avenue in Bloomfield, causing me to fall off of my scooter and fall onto my elbow. My elbow is broken as a result and I have had surgery to insert titanium plates and screws which are now in the process of helping to heal my injury. Unfortunately, the driver did not stop after the accident and I could not uncover who was responsible.

I am a server in a restaurant and have not been able to work for over two months now and my medical bills are just..daunting to say the least. Despite coverage from insurance my medical bills are still very expensive.

I still am not able to lift heavy things which impedes my ability to preform the tasks necessary for my job. Although my surgeon would like me to wait a bit longer to go back to work, it seems like I may have to go back earlier.

I am happy to report that I am healing well, but I may not be able to work again until December. (Hopefully mid November I’ll be able to be back part time). Honestly, anything would help.

Side note. If you are riding a bicycle, motorcycle, electric scooter, etc please wear proper protective equipment. I have known way too many people who have been hurt on the roads of Pittsburgh and I’m certain many of you do too! Had I been wearing elbow pads, this injury might have been avoided. That being said, thanks for listening to my story.
