Help Nathalie fix her store window
Donation protected
My dear friend Nathalie Bajinya recently moved her custom fashion store, Undeniable Bajinya, to Hilltop after her previous location had flood damage. She had just renovated the space and gotten all her merchandise set up when her store window was broken and her business was robbed. Among the items taken were thousands of dollars in completed or nearly completed orders for customers including a wedding dress, and $12,000 worth of special fabrics that are central to her designs. The damage to property is also substantial.
Nathalie is one of the most inspiring people I know. She is a savvy young business owner with immense talent who is deeply invested in supporting her community. She has overcome challenges as a refugee and in foster care and gives back in countless ways, including organizing English classes for the African immigrant community and singing with the Tacoma Refugee Choir and serving on our board. More importantly, she always makes time for other people to show them love....And she's 7 months pregnant with her second child.
While she has some insurance, it will take some time to process any claims plus deductibles and meanwhile she is losing money as her shop is boarded up and she's having to recreate work for customers. Replacing her storefront window is an important first step to getting her back on track after back-to-back emergencies for her store. Please consider showing your support for this amazing young woman by donating to this campaign.
