Help Nathaniel heal from cancer & grow his dream
Hello dear friends of Nathaniel,
For those of you I haven't yet met, my name is Beck and I'm Nathaniel’s partner. Some of you will be quite shocked and saddened to hear Nathaniel was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of cancer. This is a man who I love deeply, who I am lucky to share my life with, and who inspires me every day, as I’m sure if you are friends with him, he inspires you too.
I’m writing to you in hope that you may be able to offer some support to him and his family in this challenging time.
The background story
Nathaniel's daughter, Sascha, is solely in his care and is currently completing Year 12. Nathaniel's committed to providing a nurturing home environment where she can thrive in the final year of her schooling. There's a lot of responsibility resting solely on his shoulder's right now, and he's needing treatment and time for healing. His two older children Hanako and Taro live in Melbourne.
This year Nathaniel joyfully took on the start-up of The Healing Collective in Castlemaine. It’s a healing centre that has inspired many who have walked through its doors, offering a plethora of healing modalities that include: yoga classes, meditation, dance, feldenkrais, arts therapy, reiki, massage, somatic psychotherapy, card readings, individual consultations, healing circles, a chai café and an apothecary & atelier to name a few ventures that have found a home there. Its uplifting nature is in a big way driven by Nathaniel’s generosity and openheartedness in running it. It has also brought together a wonderful group of individuals who have found community and would love this to continue to grow in our town.
How you can help
So this is where you come in. Covid lockdown is a hard time to start up a small business, and like many other small businesses, this one hasn't been eligible for government support. But the rent needs to be paid, as Nathaniel and Sascha live in the same building as The Healing Collective.
With Covid lockdowns it has meant he has covered the rent of the space largely on his own. His savings are now spent but we need to come up with another $14,000 to get through the year to the end of his lease. More will enable him to take a well-earned break from work responsibility, to concentrate on his necessary healing as well as help pay for the cost of treatment.
The community of practitioners really hope this place can become viable and extend into 2022.
I’m inviting a financial contribution from you, because as a community, I am sure we can not only show our support to Nathaniel and his children, but also contribute to this special place growing and serving Castlemaine in the future, which has been his vision.
Who knows what we can dream up and are capable of? Even a small donation and message of support will make a difference to Nathaniel and his children.
I thank you for your support friends!
With love,
Beck Meyers
