Help Naveen Battle Cancer That Can Cost His Life

About two years ago, our beloved brother Naveen was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer with Acute Pancreatitis. Pancreatic Cancer remains one of the third deadliest Cancer, mainly because of its tendency to spread silently much before even patient is diagnosed with it. Naveen was no less of a victim to this dangerous attack.
About him -
Naveen has always lived a joyful life, a fun loving person with great aspirations in life. Up until he had been diagnosed with Cancer, he was happily conducting his life working for a leading bank as an NRI Relationship Manager. He loves cooking and helping Mom with household chores.
How it all started -
Naveen was a very active and healthy person with no signs of ailments earlier. Suddenly one day, he started to complain severe back pain which got worse and eventually spread to abdomen, later started to throw out badly. This was only driving us to think the symptoms to be some gastric problems. He was admitted to hospital to run some regular tests, which continued to go for couple of months, max we could predict was possibly some sort of tumors he must have developed. It was during the course of period, we were told about the devastating news that we could not have prepared for, that the tumor was certainly Cancerous. He had been undergoing treatment in AIG for past 2 years now, however lately his condition has worsen to an extent where some severe medical decisions needed to be taken. His most endangering issue is the acute pancreatitis (which could be life threatening) and pancreatic tumor that was inoperable because of two veins passing through it.
He was just 23 when diagnosed, considering his young age doctors were not motivated to put him on Chemotherapy, instead suggested him to try low dose oral chemo tablets for about 6 months and placed a temporary stunt in his pancreas to lessen the risk of pancreatitis attacks. Unfortunately, he did not respond positive on the oral chemo tablets, in result he started to bleed internally, holes formed in esophagus, blood vomiting and severe headaches. With these adverse effects doctors had suggested to stop oral medication and recommended for PRRT treatment. PRRT is a high radiation therapy, through this likelihood of shrinking the tumor can be possible, which is again extremely high life threatening risk if patient reacts negative to the treatment.
Doctors have been relentlessly trying to increase Naveen’s life expectancy for couple of more years, it is their strong hope that forwarding his case to renowned cancer treatment hospital MAYO CLINIC in Rochester (USA) might have a better survival chance.
As immediate measures we had taken an appointment at Mayo Clinic for 21st March and in the process of getting his emergency Visa done from India.
Cost -
Due to his present adverse condition he’s forced to discontinue working, he had taken a long-term break for his work. With absolutely no income generation and being completely dependent on father’s pension amount, created a very difficult financial adversity to bear his day to day expensive treatment. He could manage to expense 17 lakhs thus far for his treatment, we anticipate even more difficult times to come ahead as his treatment at Mayo begins, medical bills will continue to rise high, based on the doctor’s suggestions.
Costs include:
- Radiation Therapy
- Surgery
- Supporting medications and supplements
- Diagnostic Scans
- Flight tickets to USA
- Increased living expenses away from home
