Help Navy Veteran and Paramedic Mark Acquaviva Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hello Friends, Family, and Supporters,
I am reaching out to you with humility and hope, asking for your help. I am a Navy veteran and have worked as a first responder for 32 years. I have devoted my life to public service, serving as a US Navy Submariner and a paramedic doing 911 for various communities in Southeastern Michigan. (It may be from chemical exposures to AFFF while serving in the Navy that caused my condition. It's similar to the Camp Lejune case.)
Now, I am facing a daunting challenge: stage 3 liver cancer. Despite contemplating not accepting treatment, with the encouragement of friends and my son, I've decided to move forward with full determination. I have been unable to work since September 2023. I have managed financially only because of generous friends who helped me back in October last year. However, those funds ran out long ago, and I find myself humbly asking for help again.
It has been a constant worry for almost a year that I won't have the funds to pay for treatment or my rent. Recently, I was accepted for VA health care, but I have been surprised to learn that there is a co-pay. I am unable to drive and have had to resort to using Uber/Lyft for some appointments when friends aren't available. Additionally, grocery delivery adds to the already high cost of food.
Any donation, regardless of the amount, will be deeply appreciated and will be used directly to cover the expenses mentioned above. If you can't afford to donate, I understand completely. Thoughts, prayers, and positive energy are also accepted. Please share this if you're willing.
Thank you for standing by me and helping to honor my lifetime of service. Your kindness and support are truly invaluable during this challenging time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
