Help Nayomi Beat Cancer Again
Nayomi passed away May 13th late evening after enduring a long battle and putting up a good fight. We would like to continue this campaign and receive donations to give her the best going away service she could ever ask for as she deserves it and cremate her to cherish her ashes forever. Please continue donating and sharing. Your support and love is appreciated.
My name is Brieana Christopher and I’ve created this GoFundMe in hopes of helping my 15-year-old sister, whose cancer has returned back in a much more aggressive manner, after a 3 year remission.
Nayomi was diagnosed with osteosarcoma 4 years ago. She had a large tumor in her left femur and multiple benign nodules in her lungs. She had two surgeries to remove the benign nodules in her lungs and a knee replacement surgery to remove her entire femur and replace it with a metal substitution. She was also subjected to a year of chemotherapy and physical therapy to learn how to walk again and properly use her new knee. After the completion of chemotherapy, it took her two years to fully rehabilitate and get back to her usual self. Since then, Nayomi has been healthy and living a normal life.
Nayomi has been complaining of respiratory distress which seemed worse than usual, as she suffers from asthma. My mother decided to take her to the hospital and upon x-ray findings, the doctors discovered that her left lung was completely white. She was immediately sent to her old hospital to receive a PET and CT scan and the findings were life changing. Reports showed several nodules in Nayomi’s left lung, emphasizing a nodule on the left side of her heart, a large mass in her middle lobe that cannot be surgically removed, nodule in sacred lobe, right tibia, left tibia, and a nodule on her left kidney. In addition, three vertebral fractures were found in her cervical and lumbar region. Multiple sites of calcification which is an indication of osteosarcoma were also found in her legs, arms, and sacrum. In addition, fluid was found in the left lung.
The doctors informed us that this is the return of osteosarcoma and that there is nothing they can do. Chemotherapy and radiation can slow down the growth process but it will not stop or cure her. My family and I decided not to put her through that physical and mental stress again if it will not cure her. Nayomi was sent home and we were told to make her as comfortable as possible and to continue having her live a normal life until her symptoms and condition worsen and become unbearable. Nayomi is in constant pain in her spine due to the fractures and constant respiratory distress due to the fluid and nodules in her left lung.
At this time, we are changing her diet and would like to her to become a 100% raw vegan and treat her at a holistic practice, however, this is a costly route. With this news being so sudden, this was a very sudden and unexpected expense that we are not financially prepared for. I usually never make my private business a public matter, as my family and I are very confidential but because of Nayomi’s diagnosis and condition, this leaves my family and I no choice.
I’m asking for anyone who comes across this page to please donate, if possible. Every amount counts and we will be forever grateful for every donation. If anyone has any information regarding holistic & herbalist care/treatment, please contact me. In addition, please please keep my family and Nayomi in your prayers. We really need them right now and I appreciate you all who have donated, shared, or sent me encouraging words. God bless.
