Greetings from Neblow's friends from around the globe,
We've gotten her blessing to raise the funds she needs for surgery for Craniocervical Instability (CCI)
If you would like to know more, we would appreciate if you read on for more info about the surgery. As well as, Nebulow as a person and content creator on Twitch. Though I'm sure many of you already know her, as once you met her it's hard to forget such a wonderful person.
Nebulow is a 25 year old Danish content creator and retired Twitch Partner.
Everyone that knows her would agree that Nebulow is a light of a person. She would do anything for anyone and has a heart of gold. Always smiling and through a lot of hard work, positivity, and ability to make others smile, she became an official Twitch Partner in January 2019.
In April 2019; she suffered a head injury with a concussion, and devastatingly, multiple concussions after that.
She was experiencing unexplained insomnia, sleep apnea, memory loss, confusion/dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound, limb weakness, nerve pain, and other neurological symptoms.
Doctors were unable to find answers as to what was causing her symptoms to worsen rather than improve.
We now know that she has "Craniocervical instability"(CCI) a medical condition brought on by physical trauma, including whiplash or other damage to the surrounding connective tissue.
CCI causes neural injury and compression of nearby structures, including the brain stem, spinal cord, vagus nerve, and vertebral artery, resulting in a constellation of symptoms.
As a result, Neb had to give up her career and dreams as a Twitch Partner.
And sadly, many of the things that we may take for granted about every day life -such as standing up, being able to feed yourself, seeing the sunlight, and talking to friends/loved ones- all things she has also been forced to sacrifice.
She held out as long as she could, but for the past 2 years she has had no choice but to lay in the dark alone whilst trying to cope with the severe symptoms and pain.
In the last 5 months, she took a turn for the worse and has deteriorated rapidly, and now her physical state is not too dissimilar to that of a coma —she is awake but cannot move, eat or talk.
She has been dealing with joint dislocation, and intermittent consciousness. The painful mix of symptoms she's experiencing is preventing her doing anything except exist in unimaginable pain.
In her current state Neb is unable to live a ‘normal’ life and has expressed fears for her mortality
[above: Line's daily experience at home of having to stay bedbound with curtains drawn, until she had to be moved to hospital where she currently is]
[below: Line being transported to her parents residence in 2023 because it was no longer safe for her to live alone]
During her current hospital stay, she has just been diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy(CMD) and her functional ability is slowly declining as a result of the deterioration of her muscles.
CMD can have a low life expectancy. With managing of symptoms, most people can live semi-normal lives - but with Craniocervical Instability affecting her so much, right now there's no chance.
Neb has spent the past year trying to decide weather Craniocervical Instability Surgery would be worth the high risk and high cost. The conclusion has been that it's the only chance she has of surviving what's currently happening to her.
The surgery costs 85,000 Euros (633,916 danish kr) We've decided to add 5,000 euros just in case to help mitigate any unexpected fees, mobility aids and surprise hospital costs.
She has e-consulted with the doctor who preforms this surgery in Europe.
If we all give a little that we can spare, we are hopeful that because she has touched the hearts of enough people, will be able to get close to the goal. Neb does not believe it will be possible, we can but try our best to help her any way we can.
Hopefully one day she can improve enough to read the messages of love we're leaving for her.
♡ Love from,
Neb's friends from around the world
