Help Nechoma Afford Medical Equipment
Donation protected
Hi, this is Nechoma. Many of you know I have a genetic disorder that has far reaching effects on my health and daily function. Many of you also may not know, because on most days my disabilities are “invisible.” Either way, I was born with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which causes a complex list of health problems including persistent fatigue, frequent random injuries, heart problems, circulation issues, falls, dizziness, exercise intolerance, gastrointestinal issues, and severe allergies. My condition has been worsening over time and I desperately need to buy the medical/accessible equipment recommended by my doctors but not covered by insurance.
I need:
- Waist high medical grade compression stockings (enough for at least a week) ~$100/pair
- Ultralight commuting backpack with a supportive waist strap and load lifters ~up to $350 to find one that works for my body
- Rolling carts to set up medical stations in my apartment ~$100/2 carts
- New stable shoes that I don’t fall down in and don’t cause debilitating foot pain ~$300 for multiple types of shoes
- Several new braces and hot/cold packs ~$300 all in
I am happy to post specific updates on how the money is spent. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support! It’s hard to ask for help, but there are so many things I urgently need and no amount of budgeting and pinching is going to get me here soon enough to protect my health and prevent further deterioration.
