Please help irreplaceable Arabian Horse expert and advocate; loyal, passionate and dedicated riding instructor, Nedra Johnson, win her battle with Stage 3 Uterine Cancer!

Anyone who knows Nedra, knows she is the first to offer to help anyone in need, whether a friend or stranger, and now is the time to show people like her, who help, that it is appreciated and gladly returned.

A little about Nedra:

A native of glorious Santa Ynez Valley, Nedra’s Arabian Riding Academy program is hosted by world renowned Om El Arab. Nedra’s love and enthusiasm for Arabians is a great asset for newcomers to the breed, and she is an excellent shepherd to her students - both in person and around the world, via her vibrant social media presence. She reaches thousands of viewers while showcasing her talented youth riders and Arabian horses.

Cancer Diagnosis & Where We Are As of 04/01/24:

On March 1st of this year, Nedra began to inexplicably hemorrhage blood from her uterus. Her primary doctor unable to see her, she ended up in the ER on March 17th. THANKFULLY, a caring ER doctor, determined to get answers, advocated for her urgent care, arranged testing and on March 24th, much to all of our concern, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Uterine Cancer. We are so thankful to that proactive doctor for expediting her care. Currently, she is awaiting the results of her CT Scan, while trying to schedule surgery for an emergency hysterectomy.

Why we need help:

On top of unexpected medical bills, Nedra was too ill to teach her revenue-generating Spring Break Camp, and is currently unable to accept deposits for her revenue generating Summer Camp. She is generating refunds but is taking an enormous hit in this lost income at the most financially critical time of year.

Current plan:

When you talk to Nedra about her diagnosis, she is very clear that healing is her number one priority, but a close second is keeping the children riding and the horses healthy. Her drive is to return to what she loves the most; teaching the kids and her Arabian horses.

The horses eat (6) bags of Alfalfa Hay Cubes, (3) bags of Purina Senior, and (1) bag of Rice Bran per week.

Update: Today, 04/15/24, a portion of these funds, $2700, will be going towards her surgery deductible. And $800 will be going towards some of her diagnostic bills, parking etc. Additionally, over the weekend she has paid out of pocket money to cover some of the school horses expenses, $1k board, Tractor Supply expenses for feed, medications, and supplements. She’s paid out of pocket gas for trips to the hospital 3 hours away, and she’s paid rent for April & May. We are keeping a clear accounting record of all of her expenses and we are so grateful for all of your continued support!

04/17/24

Currently Nedra is in surgery and in the capable hands of Cedars Sinai’s surgical team. She went into her surgery with great spirits and we told her uterus that we loved her but that it was time to go! We said “Bye Felicia!”, shared a laugh and she is on her way!
