Help needed for cat with cancer

Donation protected
I don't see a way to add a reply or update to my post, so here's the update:

Baby Girl got her surgery. She is resting with her "mom" (my daughter). She hates her cone so we've ordered her a cat surgery onesie from Amazon. She's just started eating a little bit of solid foods, but she was taking chicken broth from the day she came home.

We don't have biopsy results yet -- the tumor was in a bad location and they're worried that they might not have gotten it all, so they biopsied the edge. Here's hoping everything is good.

Tomorrow (12/13) she's going back to the vet to check over the surgical wound, which is seeping fluid. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about...

Thanks everyone so much for getting us to this point. Baby Girl has a fighting chance now. I'm in awe of everyone's generosity; in this economy, I know it's hard to scrape anything extra together. I can't overstate how thankful I am to all of you.

Original post below the asterisks.

This is Baby Girl, a 4 year old tortoiseshell cat who was born in my daughter's bedroom and has been raised by her ever since. Baby Girl has an injection-site sarcoma, a fast-growing aggressive tumor caused by getting a vaccine shot, on her back leg. The vet says the leg has to come off, as soon as possible -- the cancer hasn't yet metastasized, but it's only a matter of time -- but it's going to cost $2500, on top of what we've already paid to get it biopsied, cat x-rays, etc.

I've been unemployed since the end of July. Neither my husband nor I have found work yet. And my daughter has already lost so much. My mother, her grandmother, died of cancer when she was 10. I had cancer two years after that -- I survived, but my exhaustion and illness meant I couldn't be there for my daughter as much as she needed me, and then in 2021 she came down with a fatigue disorder they haven't been able to diagnose. I suspect it's long Covid, but they say there are no antibodies, so... She's missed her high school years due to this illness, she suffers from anxiety and depression... and now her cat is going to die because her mom doesn't have a job, and I can't bear that. She loves this cat so much. I'm afraid of the damage it will do to her if Baby Girl dies.

Can anyone help us save Baby Girl? For my daughter's sake, or for the cat's own sake? I've already paid more than I can afford to help this poor cat, and I'm desperate.
