Help Needed for Houseless Family w Three Toddlers

In the midst of the recent -7ºF blizzard that swept through Bend, I encountered a resilient family living in a small trailer on public lands. Meet Billy (Dad), Christa (Mom), Juniper (3), Rosalie (2), and Jasper (1). They are facing the harsh winter elements with incredible strength, but they need our community's support.

Over the past few days, I've been doing my best to assist them by providing propane, food, clothes, a tow, rides to town, and firewood essential for survival in the challenging Central Oregon winter. However, there's a critical need that we must address - transportation.

The family's mini-van has transmission failure, leaving them stranded at their campsite 2 miles from town. The lack of reliable transportation poses a significant obstacle to their ability to care for themselves and their children.

I am reaching out to our community to rally together and extend a helping hand to this family in need. By working collectively, we can come up with the $1500 needed to repair their vehicle, ensuring they maintain their independence and navigate through the winter safely. (I will facilitate the tow and fix of this vehicle with the funds.)
