Help Needy Youth in Rwanda Make a Living

Tax deductible
Following the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis that took away the lives of more than a million people, the Rwandan government has done a great job establishing unity and reconciliation and providing sponsored education. There are also consistent efforts to create jobs to help Rwandans gain employment and make a living.
Despite those efforts, however, thousands of high school and college graduates end up unemployed, and many fall into poverty. The absence of a solution for some of these young people often creates vulnerability to drug addiction, immorality, and other evil behavior.
We appeal to you for whatever donation you can afford so we can help these young people to build a better future. Your donation will go directly towards the “INVEST for JESUS” project. You will contribute to the training of these young people to create livelihood projects that will benefit their families and the communities around them. They will also learn biblical moral values that are key to success and happiness. As my favorite author says, “…all should find something to do that will be beneficial to themselves and helpful to others. God appointed work as a blessing, and only the diligent worker finds the true glory and joy of life.” (Ellen G. White). Your donation will help relieve the suffering of thousands of young people in Rwanda and positively impact their lives for this life and the eternal life to come.
This project will have two phases:
Phase 1: There will be a month-long training for hundreds of youths and young adults at least twice a year. Through the INVEST for JESUS program, we will train, inspire, equip, help, and assist the youth in obtaining startup capital through microlending. Program staff will also monitor and evaluate each project to ensure success. Some youth who may not want to create their own livelihood projects may apply for jobs in their competence, having acquired some basic skills and learned values that will make them competitive in the job market.
Phase 2: Establish a Center for Creativity Thinking and Job Creation (CTJC Center). It will provide training sessions that last from 6 months to one year and offer a practical space for learning as a model for job creation. Participants in this program will be equipped with the skills needed for the local, regional, and international job market, such as farming, plumbing, painting, and mechanical skills. As a result, they will also be able to plant centers of influence and become a blessing to their communities.
What we need from you now:
This project needs to raise $313,306 to have a good start. We also need volunteers. Please let us know if you have special skills that can help these young people in their attempts to create or find jobs. If you would like to help with the project's planning, organization, and implementation, please get in touch with us as well, and we will discuss possible ways you can help.
Those who will be highly involved through monetary contributions and giving their time may be asked to serve on Reaching for Hope’s board of directors or advisory committee as needed.
God bless you as you serve Him.
