Help Neighbor Avoid Eviction in San Francisco
Donation protected
I'm raising money to help a neighbor in San Francisco not get evicted. Genuinely seems to me like someone on the cusp of becoming homeless, or getting a break to turn his life around.
He's extremely bright—got partway through UC Davis Physics PhD—but hasn't quite figured out how to use his skills in a lucrative way. He's had some research assistant jobs, but for the past couple of years, he's been dog walking 40 hours a week.
Through that work, he was able to pay his rent—a very low $1,100-$1,200 for SF—but when a roommate unexpectedly moved out, he got stuck paying their rent and fell into a hole financially.
Now he needs $1,800 by Jan 31 to avoid eviction.
To make matters worse, he has $80,000 in student debt...
Besides the fundraiser, a couple of other needs:
- An old laptop (his died) to help him get a higher-paying job
- Any leads/connections for getting a higher-paying job. Ops, BD, customer support, data analysis.
- Any short-term work on weekends to help him get more money.
