Help Nelson Get a Wheelchair Equipped Vehicle
On February 19, 2021 Nelson suffered from a heart attack. What started out as difficulty breathing quickly led to an induced coma and multiple heart surgery’s over the following 2 weeks. During the chaos he was put on dialysis for his kidney disease that he has been fighting for years. With so much circulation lost due to the heart attack, Nelson developed necrosis in his feet and lower legs. The decision was made to amputate both legs above the knee before it could spread further.
Nelsons wife Betty has been frantically trying to prepare the house for her husband to come home in a wheelchair. A very crucial part of his new life will be traveling to and from the hospital in Abbotsford for dialysis 3x a week. He needs access to a wheelchair equipped vehicle once he is discharged from the hospital.
My goal is to take some of the burden off of the Rioux family and raise enough money for them to purchase a reliable wheelchair friendly vehicle. We are hoping that Nelson is able to come home soon and be able to settle easily into his new life with friends and family by his side.
Thank you so much for your support,
Val
